Know Before You Go!
Additionally, we also offer personalized outings. We teach Avalanche Courses – AIARE – Mountain Safety.info – as a full compliment of educational resources for those operating in avalanche terrain. In fact, Marc helped with the development for Mountain Safety.info and worked hard to obtain collaboration between Mountain Safety.info and the UIAA. Understand, learning about avalanche behavior is a fundamental skill for any backcountry traveler whether you are snowshoeing on a quiet trail or ripping it up on a snow machine. Avalanche Courses – AIARE – Mountain Safety.info curriculum meets and exceeds the American Avalanche Association mandates for avalanche courses.

Is your avalanche instructor a AMGA/IFMGA Certified Ski/Splitboard Guide? Check and see here.

Why to choose BMG for your avalanche course
Marc has been working diligently all of 2023 with the UIAA, experts in avalanche transceivers, and all of the manufacturers to come up with recommendations for how to deal with electromagnetic interference. You can see those recommendations at the UIAA Safety Commission’s Press Release. He continues to work towards standardizing avalanche transceivers and is diligently working on proposals for a UIAA Safety Label standard to make sure that all transceivers meet a minimum baseline. This includes some standard ways the end-users can work seamlessly from one transceiver to another on a moment’s notice.
We’ve been teaching with the best tools in the quiver for nearly over two decades. Check out one of our “vintage videos from 2009.” Above all, it is important to understand how to interpret your test results. Great job on this ECT in Taos – it was a sketchy time to be in bounds or out of bounds, as hindsight is brutally clear. Q: How do these two videos differ? Q: How are they the same? Q: Why is it so important? Let’s discuss these and more topics in a course soon!
